Liz Davidson is widely recognized as the pioneer of workplace financial wellness. She founded Financial Finesse in 1999 after running a hedge fund, where she was surprised to find that even among high-net-worth clients, there was still a significant knowledge gap around financial planning. This group had the buffer of wealth — but it made her wonder: what about everyone else?

She left the industry to build something different: a financial coaching benefit with no product sales, no commissions, and no conflicts of interest — just certified coaches focused entirely on helping employees reduce financial stress, increase financial resilience, and achieve long-term financial well-being. What she built became the foundation of an entirely new industry.
