The secret to a good retirement planning strategy can be found in Las Vegas, but not at the poker table.  The SHRM 2011 Annual Conference and Exposition kicks off on Saturday, June 25th at the Las Vegas Convention Center and promises to be loaded with practical tips, informative HR sessions, new innovations, and networking opportunities – not to mention nonstop entertainment, Vegas style.

Speakers and entertainment include Sir Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin Group, Emmy awarding winning actor Michael J. Fox,  country music star Keith Urban, and me – Linda Robertson!  I may not be the headliner, but I will be hosting a pre-conference session Saturday afternoon focusing on “Workplace Retirement Education: One Size Fits All is Extinct.” I’ll be sharing the secrets to designing retirement plan communications around your workforce’s specific needs, benefits, demographics, culture and existing communication channels, and revealing customized strategies to hone in on the different generations and their unique learning styles. To keep with the gaming atmosphere, we’ll even play a round of Money Madness, a Jeopardy-like educational game that puts the fun into retirement education.

So in this case, let’s break the rule of what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.  Register here for this year’s Society of Human Resource Management Conference.
