Can You be the Hero?

August 10, 2010

All of us want to feel special.  Whether it’s helping the team score the winning goal, or simply helping someone with their groceries, it makes us feel good when we come to someone else’s aid.  But what if you could come to the aid of many people all at once?

Many companies offer great benefits that will help their employees, but many employees do not understand how to use these benefits to their fullest extent.  Our clients have great retirement benefits, health benefits, life insurance, EAP benefits and much more.  All together, there is enough to help any employee reach a myriad of financial goals.  So why are so many of these great benefits severely underutilized?  The problem is not what benefits are available, or even how those benefits are communicated, but rather a lack of recognition by the employees on how these benefits actually help them reach their financial goals.

This is where you step in.  You have an opportunity to go beyond benefits communication into benefits planning.  With benefits planning, not only do your employees understand their benefits more fully, but they learn the framework for deciding which benefit options are the most appropriate for their circumstances.  In doing so they gain a deeper appreciation for what they have, their job satisfaction increases, the cost of administering benefits decreases, and you look like a superstar—cape and all.
