Chocolate Treats Aren’t Just for Easter!

You can never get too much chocolate and the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans (IFEBP) can help feed your sweet tooth when you check out their ACA supply kit, available for next week’s National Employee Benefits Day.  Not only does the kit include chocolate treats, but also a talking stress ball and worksheets and fact sheets to implement and celebrate the day.

This year’s National Employee Benefits Day takes place on April 2nd, with a focus on the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Employees have already begun to see the impact of the ACA, with the 2012 W-2 forms reporting the cost of group health coverage and this year’s FSA limit reduced to $2,500.  More changes are coming, so employees should be educated on what the changes could mean to them.  Will your company be looking to the newly created exchanges to purchase health insurance?  Or perhaps your wellness program will be taking advantage of increasing your wellness incentives up to the new 2014 limit of 30% of the cost of coverage.

While the spotlight is on health insurance, you might also consider celebrating the day with a refresher for your employees on the benefits of an HSA if you have a high deductible health plan.  HSA participants still have several more days to make their 2012 HSA contribution if they didn’t already max out the limit for last year, so host a workshop or set up a benefits day booth in your lunchroom to spread the word.  Most importantly, give yourself a pat on the back in recognition of your hard work and dedication to your workforce and in celebration of National Employee Benefits Day go ahead and finish off that Easter candy.
